I have used it to capture and model rooms. I've also noticed that 360 scans tend to get messed up from overlap/drift as you finish up.
My solution to this is to make multiple scans and piece them together afterwards. I will typically scan (going up and down; then over a little and up and down again) from a little around the corner, along the wall, to a little past the other corner. I also shoot the same from multiple angles sometimes. Getting the corners is the key to aligning everything later.
Once I've captured everything, I use the corner overlap to align the models a bit like assembling a jigsaw puzzle.
I'm not sure if this is the best technique, but it's the best I've been able to come up with.
This is an example of a multi-segment exterior scan I did the other day, interiors work the same way.
