The research center I work for recently purchased a Structure Sensor. We have been unable to get any the samples provided with the OpenNI distribution or Skanect to find the sensor when used on our Mac Pro computers. So far we have tried 3 Late 2013 Mac Pro's running OS X El Capitan. We successfully connected the sensor to our Macbook Pro computers and were able to use it with Skanect and the OpenNI samples. Has anybody else encountered this issue or know a solution?
What error messages are you seeing?
I keep getting device not found on Skanect and the OpenNI samples. I have attached two screenshots that show what I see in the System Profiler on my Mac Pro vs. Macbook Pro.
I'm actually seeing the same thing on an old Macbook (not Pro) with El Capitan. It happens with a Carmine sensor as well. There's no problem on a Macbook Pro with Sierra.
Would it be possible to upgrade one of the Pro's to Sierra?
I can't move any of our computers to Sierra, the technology office at our university will not allow us to update past El Capitan.
Ok. I'll try and debug on the Macbook...
